Moi Moi Sauce Houmous with Pitta Bread

Ingredients

For the houmous:

  • 400g tinned chickpeas, drained and rinsed
  • 2 tbsp tahini
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 80ml Moi Moi Sauce Original
  • Pinch of sea salt

To serve:

  • 4 pitta breads, warmed
  • Extra drizzle of olive oil
  • Sprinkle of smoked paprika (optional)

Method

  1. Blend the houmous. Add chickpeas, tahini, olive oil, garlic, lemon juice, and salt to a food processor. Blend until smooth, adding a splash of water if needed to loosen the texture.

  2. Add the sauce. Spoon in the Moi Moi Sauce and pulse a few more times until combined but slightly marbled - you want streaks of sauce running through rather than a uniform blend.

  3. Serve. Transfer to a bowl, drizzle with olive oil, and dust lightly with smoked paprika if using. Serve with warm pitta for dipping.

Chef’s Tip

Hold back a few chickpeas and stir them through at the end for extra texture. And don’t overblend - a little roughness gives it character and helps the Moi Moi Sauce shine through.
